Kevin Molvik and the saw

Timberline Post and Beam is a salvage hardwood business, owned and operated by Kevin Molvik in Wenatchee, Washington.

Our roots in these industries began in the 1990s when Kevin returned from his seasonal, commercial crab fishing job in the Bering Sea of Alaska. He purchased a Woodmizer LT40 HD portable sawmill and started a custom sawmill company that he operated during the summers in his off-season.

Kevin, who has always had a passion for timber frame buildings, studied timber framing in Canada and had his first home construction job waiting for him in Lake Wenatchee after he completed school. Since then, we've built wineries, full timber frame residences, monumental timber frame hybrid editions, custom timber trusses, smooth-walled log cabins, and a few other types of buildings.

With a love for reclaimed and salvaged woods, Kevin incorporates into his homes and commercial buildings recycled train trestles and timbers from apple packing warehouses and historical buildings. He also mills raw logs into timbers. You’ll find our projects throughout Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan Counties in Washington and two homes in Kodiak, Alaska.

Today the original sawmill is still running strong, but we've added the Woodmizer WM1000 industrial sawmill to expand our capabilities. This saw is capable of a 65" wide x 20' long cut and has paved the way for us to enter the wide live edge slab market for creating custom countertops, bar tops, dining tables, and executive conference tables.

Our slabs and timbers are kiln-dried to provide you with a stable and beautiful product for years to come. We allow the wood to properly air dry, and then we finish the drying process in our two 40' long Nile 200 dehumidifying container kilns.

We give glory to God as his mercies are new every morning.
